Jerome Valentyn Obituary

Faribault - Jerome E. Valentyn, age 88 of Faribault, died on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at his home.

Private graveside services will be held at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Shieldsville. Arrangements are being completed by Boldt Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Faribault.

Jerome Edmund, the son of Joseph and Hilda (Lexvold) Valentyn, was born December 24, 1936 in Faribault. He attended Faribault High School and served in the U.S. Navy as an Electrician's Mate. Jerome married Shirley Wayne on June 28, 1958. He was employed with several electrical contractors prior to founding Cedar Lake Electric in 1975. Jerome also enjoyed collecting cars.

He is survived by his three sons, Jay (Barb) Valentyn of Faribault, Paul Valentyn of Faribault and Scott (Brenda) Valentyn of Owatonna; grandchildren, Joe Valentyn, Marissa (Aaron) Babcock, Dylan (Maddie) Valentyn and Ashley (Andrew) Bruner; great grandchildren, Joslyn, Evan, Brynn Babcock, Sophie Valentyn, Grady and Brenna Beckius, Otto Bruner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley in 2003 and a sister, Louise (Ronald) Wayne.
