Decatur
Funeral service for Jerome "GG" Williams, 55, of Decatur will be noon Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at Macedonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Dr. G. Lynne Herring officiating and burial in Sykes Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home Directing. The body will be placed in the church one hour before service. Mr. Williams died Aug. 18, 2009, at his home.
Jerome was born July 3, 1954, in Decatur to Charles Robert Williams and the late Margine Wiggins Williams.
He graduated from Decatur High School in 1972 and was a Marine Corp. Veteran. He was a truck driver for Dixie Trucking.
Jerome is survived by his father; and sisters, Deborah Isler, Chula Vista, Calif., Janice Williams, Lawrence, Mass., and Joyce Williams-Kelly, East Brunswick, N.J.
Pallbearers will be Andreal T. Climons, Billy Hines, Leonard Raybon, Shawney Wynn Sr., Cecil Ratliff and Clarence Holmes.

GG I don't know where to begin. I have so many wonderful memories of you. Like all the times that you Greg and I would go to the video store and rent a stack of martial art movies and we would stay up all Saturday night watching them. Or all of the Saturday mornings the three of us would go fishing and at midnight we would still be sitting on the bank fishing.Or all of the times you baby sat for me. Or the many times you let me drive your car and I had to listen to a 30 minute lecture on the do's and dont's while your car was in my possession. :)lol Or how much you loved my duncan hines box cakes. GG even though those times had passed and we each had moved on and went our separate ways they will forever remain a cherished part of my past. You will always have a special place in my heart. My sisters, Baba, as GG would call her, and Frances called me. I was very sorry to hear the news of GG's passing, he was so young, to Uncle Robert, Debra, Janice,and family my prayers are with you and your families, GG was so pleasant when I was home to talk with, I know a void is there, but know that we love you, and care. Words don't mean much at the moment, but God's Grace will see you through.

Uncle Charles, Deborah and Janice, We are so sorry to hear of GG's passing. He was the big brother we never had growing up. I'm sorry I won't be able to come for the funeral but my thoughts and prayers will be with you. May God bless you and comfort you in knowing he is no longer suffering but he is with Him. Praise Him!! I will miss GG, he holds a special place in my heart, when my dad Melvin Williams would bring us downsouth for family vacations GG would scare the dickins out of us saying he was snakeman! He would chase us (Rosemary, Lorraine,Carolyn, Chandra & Sandra back to Aunt Net's house. We always had fun with him. He will be missed by all of us.
