In loving memory of Jerri L. Grubb, 72, of Danville, who passed away in the early hours on July 4, 2024 at Life’s Journey Hospice. She was born January 1st, 1952 in Greenfield Indiana, to her father Bobby Gene and her late mother Marilyn Carew (Keaton).
Jerri graduated from Shelbyville Highschool in 1970 and continued to further her education by attending Indiana State and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Education. After completing her undergraduate program, Jerri went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Education at IUPUI, which led her to teach for over 35 years. She taught at Brownsburg Elementary as a third-grade teacher, helping young minds grow and flourish.
Upon retirement, Jerri and her husband Larry Grubb, began to travel and explore different parts of the country, finding new spots and scenery to enjoy. Jerri ventured coast to coast, traveling to Alaska, Florida, and Arizona; however, Jerri’s favorite spot was at Dale Hollow Lake, where she loved to watch and take pictures of the sunset and embraced the beauty of the natural scenery. Jerri and her husband loved to use their RV when the traveled, making home where ever they went.
Jerri was a congregation member at Danville Christian Church, actively participating within the community.
Jerri was a loving daughter, wife, and mother, who made family a central priority within her life and daily living. She was a devoted wife and traveling companion to her husband Larry Grubb, and loving mother to her son Micheal (Jayanna) Grubb. Jerri is also survived by her siblings, Philip (Diane) Carew, David (Connie) Carew, Tom (Cheryl) Carew, Steve (Patsianne) Carew, Becky (Larry) Cox, and her nieces and nephews.
The Family invites all loved ones, friends, and relatives to the visitation at Danville Christian Church, 180 West Main Street Danville, Indiana 46122 on Friday July 12th, 2024 from 6-9pm. A service for Jerri will be held the following day at Danville Christian Church on Saturday July 13th, 2024 beginning at 11:00 am.
