Jerrie Lois Rhamy was born October 20, 1938 in Llano, Texas and passed from this life on February 21, 2026. She is survived by two daughters: Judy Albus of San Angelo and Cheryl Herring of Junction; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Jerrie graduated from Junction High School and attended business school in Fort Worth. On March 9, 1956 she married Ted Fairchild, and they had four children together: Judy, Cheryl, Charlie and Duane. For most of her life, and the lives of her four kids, Jerrie was a homemaker. She and Ted raised their children in Christ, and they moved across Texas as opportunities arose for Ted for oversee various ranches.

Jerrie was a renowned seamstress in San Angelo, and she was sought after to fashion San Angelo’s society with unmatched quality and style in clothing apparel. She eventually owned and operated a fabric store in Brady before moving back to her hometown Junction. After returning, Jerrie took on the position of County Librarian at the Kimble County Library, where she served for many years and earned the prestigious award as Librarian of Year of the Texas Big Country.

Living in Junction was not simply a return home for Jerrie. Instead, it was an opportunity to spend quality time with her sister, Judy Chenault, and her mother, Melba Hicks. When those ladies were together, laughter and enjoyment filled their lives. Their laughter was contagious, and whether you wanted to or not, you’d end up being uplifted and laughing right alongside them. Their passion for life, and love for one another will forever permeate the memories of their family and friends.

Jerrie loved the outdoors, gardening, arts and crafts, and cooking. She spent countless hours teaching her grandchildren the art of sewing, crafting, crocheting, gardening, and even fishing. She was dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. But her greatest dedication was to her faith. No matter where life took her, she remained active in the church community and held dear the fellowship with her church family. Her heart forever remained rooted in the Word, and her radiance stemmed from her unwavering faith, even when she experienced loss and heartache. She faced losing Duane when he was 21, Charlie at 54, and Ted after 42 years of marriage. Jerrie’s faith in God was a testament alone and was mirrored in all aspects of her life.

Jerrie counted herself blessed to Hae found love again when she met Don Rhamy. After his first wife’s passing, he decided to retrace his boyhood steps, which brought him to Junction. That is when he met Jerrie at the Kimble County Library. Their love story began to blossom with a first date over coffee at the Dairy Queen. A few short months later, Don got down on one knee at that same Dairy Queen and asked Jerrie to be his wife. They were married March 4, 2006 and shared a full, happy, loving life until the Lord called Don home December 31, 2022.

Jerrie lived a long and happy life, full of love, laughter and faith. Her incredible strength, unyielding resilience, robust passion for Christ, and unconditional love for her family were clear to anyone who crossed her path. We are all better for having known her, for getting to call her friend, and for getting to be a part of her family.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 26, 2026 at the First Baptist Church of Junction with Pastor Steve Meyers officiating.

Services with integrity, pride, and honor are under the direction of Kimble Funeral Home. (325) 446-3076
