Jerry Benson Obituary
A funeral service was held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 11:00 A.M., at the LeMieur Funeral Home in Little Falls, MN, with Dave Sperstad officiating. Visitation was from 9:00-11:00 A.M., on Monday July 21, 2025, at the LeMieur Funeral Home in Little Falls. Jerry was laid to rest next to his mom and dad at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls. Caring for Jerry and his family is the LeMieur Funeral Home in Little Falls.
Though he faced many challenges in life, his heart was always full of love, joy and unshakable devotion to the people around him. Born with disabilities that never defined his spirit, Jerry taught everyone who knew him about kindness, resilience, and the simple beauty of unconditional love. He had a special gift for making others feel seen and appreciated, and his smile could brighten even the hardest days. He adored his family beyond measure and found great happiness in everyday moments spent with them. His love of dogs was unmatched - he lit up whenever there was a furry friend nearby. Music brought him peace and joy, and he rarely missed an episode of his favorite game shows, which he watched with excitement and delight. Though he is no longer with us, the love Jerry gave so freely remains a lasting legacy of a beautiful soul who gave us all so much.
Jerry is survived by his brothers, David (Sheila) Benson, Jim (Patty) Benson Sr.; sisters, Kathy (Rick) Wiersgalla and Becky Diebel; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Collette (LeMieur) Benson; brother-in-law, Paul Diebel; great-nephew, Layne Diebel; and ex sister-in-law, Linda (Benson) Pilarski.
The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff at Artesian and the Lutheran Care Center for their compassionate care, kindness, and unwavering support. Their patience and love meant the world to Jerry and brought comfort to all during difficult times. We are forever thankful for the dignity and respect you showed Jerry every day.
