Jerry was born on October 10, 1939 in Clarks, Louisiana to James and Opal (McDaniel) Bratton. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at his home in Splendora.
Jerry was a beloved man who cherished his family above all else. He had a loving and caring spirit that he shared generously with his family and friends. His passion for horses was one he eagerly passed down to his children, spending countless years trail riding on The Spanish Trail Ride alongside his closest friends. His grandchildren were his greatest joys, each receiving a special nickname from him as a token of his affection. With his warm smile and playful nature, Jerry brought light into the lives of those around him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love.
Jerry was predeceased by his beloved wife and son, Barbara Bratton and Jerry Wayne Bratton.
He is survived by his loving family: Daughters and sons-in-law, Tamara Muirhead, Rhonda Shay and husband, Ronnie, Karen Kinard and husband, Dean and Susan Bratton; Sisters, Sharon Puckett and Delores Cook; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; numerous other dear nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Jerry also leaves behind a host of caring friends, especially his longtime trail riding buddies.
