Jerry William Bunt

Jerry William Bunt, 82, of Dixon, IL, passed away from natural causes on Friday, February 21, 2025, at his home in Dixon.
Jerry was born on July 5, 1942, in Stronghurst, IL, to Don and Evelyn (Settles) Bunt. On August 6, 1966, he married the love of his life, Bonnie Sue Huffman. They enjoyed a blissful marriage for 58 years, raising two daughters, Kristine and Joleen, and cherishing their two grandchildren, Dennis and Charlie.
From a young age, Jerry had a passion for collecting coins, which he turned into a successful business. He also enjoyed target shooting with family and friends, winning several competitions. Music was another of Jerry's passions; he played the trumpet and was often found watching "Hee Haw" or listening to Brenda Lee albums.
Jerry's greatest joy in life was his family and friends. He was devoted to those he loved, always offering a compassionate ear and skilled counsel both personally and professionally. His deep love for God was evident in his wholehearted commitment to his faith.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie (Huffman) Bunt; two daughters, Kristine (David) Vancil of Dittmer, MO, and Joleen (John) Elliott of Salida, CO; two grandchildren, Dennis William Vancil and Charlie Kayla Vancil; and two brothers, Robert (Nancy) Bunt and Don Bunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Evelyn (Settles) Bunt.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon. The Funeral service will take place at 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the same location, with an additional Visitation preceding the service at 9:00 am. Burial will follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester, IL.
