Jerry Lynn "Shack" Cannon, age 69 of
Morgantown, KY, known affectionately to his friends and family as Shack, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 26, 2025, at TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY. Born on September 21, 1956, in
Morgantown, KY, Shack's life was one marked by laughter, generosity, and a deep love for his community.
Shack was preceded in death by his parents, William E. and Nelma Ruth Pearson Cannon, and his grandparents, Rayburn and Gertrude Pearson. His legacy continues through his two sons, Eddie and Justin Cannon of
Morgantown, KY; brother, Terry Cannon of Indianapolis, along with his nephews, Steve and Charlie, and nieces, Shelly and Terry Lynn. Shack's life was further enriched by his special friends, Gary and April Johnson, his beloved cat Pinky, and a close-knit circle of friends who shared in his passions and pursuits.
A proud member of the Oldsmobile Club of America, Shack's enthusiasm for old cars was not just a hobby but a way of life. His love for car shows was well-known, and he could often be found admiring the craftsmanship of classic vehicles. Shack's professional life was dedicated to serving his community through his work with Butler County EMS, where he served as a dispatcher for 27 years. His calming presence and quick wit were a comfort to many during times of crisis.
Upon retirement, Shack's entrepreneurial spirit led him to open Shacks Carts and More, where he combined his love for sales with his interest in golf carts. His business was more than a livelihood; it was a hub of friendship and camaraderie, a place where Shack's generous nature was on full display.
