Jerry Gene Carter, 41, passed away on March 14, 2025, in Lancaster, Ohio after a decade long battle with cancer and numerous health issues. He was born on February 12, 1984, in Bartow, Florida but lived most of his life in Brooklet, GA. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and a graduate of Ogeechee Technical College with a degree in Criminal Justice. Jerry proudly served in the United States Air Force, dedicating himself to his country with honor which he carried over to serving the state of GA as a peace officer.
He is survived by his beloved children, Gabriel Carter and Sarah Carter; his mother, Nellie Carter; his father and other mother, Jerry and Pam Fail; his siblings, Donald Carter, Karen Petty, Beth McCormick, and Maggie Scott; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Terri Carter; his paternal grandparents, Lenward and RosaLee Fail; his maternal grandparents, Floyd and Mary Carter; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Memorial Calling Hours were held from 2 to 4 PM, with Military Services being conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard at 4 PM on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, 204 W. Main St. Logan, Ohio.
Jerry's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in peace.
