Jerry Max Causey, 83, of Oxford, GA passed away Monday, December 1, 2025, after a short illness. He was a faithful and loving husband, father and grandfather and is remembered for his gentle nature, his kindness and his dry sense of humor. He was the manager of the Food Giant Supermarket, later known as Super Valu Supermarket, in Lithonia, GA for many years. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Air Force, an Emeritus member of the Stone Mountain Masonic Lodge and the Starlight Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was preceded in death by his Father, W. C. Causey, his mother, Willie G. Causey and his brother, W.C. Causey, Jr.

Jerry was born in Atlanta, GA on July 10, 1942. He married Sheryl Pressley of Decatur, GA on January 22, 1966. They resided in Conyers, GA for 27 years, in Oxford, GA for 19 years, and in Eatonton, GA for 6 years prior to returning to Oxford, GA in August 2025 to be near their daughter.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sheryl, their son, Jason W. Causey and his wife Shannon of Cocoa , FL, daughter, Heather Davis and her husband Robby of Oxford, GA, daughter- in-law Dawn Harbin LaChance and her husband Rob LaChance, grandchildren, Meredith Causey of Rockledge, FL, Taylor Causey Pratt and her husband Scott of Woodstock, GA, Sydney Davis Hackney and her husband Austin of Monroe, GA, Will Davis and his fiancé Ashlyn of Cartersville, GA, great-grandchildren, Collins, Davis and Wells Hackney and Pressley Pratt, sisters-in-law Jeanette Causey and Marie Pressley and nieces and nephews. There are no services planned at this time.

Sorry to hear about Jerry´s passing. In our younger years I used to spend the night occasionally & Jerry, Clarence, & me would shoot now & arrows & BB guns in what seemed like a huge back yard...on Moreland Ave.
