I first saw Jerry on a cold drizzling Wednesday night in March 2024 sitting in a mobile cart full of groceries outside the Kroger. He was sitting there smoking when I went in, 40 min later he was still there when I came out. I stopped to chat and see if I could help, said his hired ride never showed up. I loaded up his groceries, his walker and as he settled into the passenger seat. We became fast friends and I loved helping him with his shopping and other small chores around the house like dishes and putting away groceries. I knew he had family and he spoke of his 2 sisters, 2 sons and daughter. But I never had the opportunity to meet them. I helped Jerry with picking up his medications, he groceries and a few times he called just to ask if I could bring him a large what a burger all the way and a large vanilla milkshake. He had a lot of really bad days and I was so blessed to have gotten to know him and share in his life for 7 months. I will miss his smile. God bless you Jerry. Your friend, April Williamson

Jerry was my neighbor, but more than that he was my friend. He was a very thoughtful and generous man. In all the years I have know him I have never heard him say anything negative against any one else.
Jerry was not a person who gave up. He couldn't walk without a walker, but I have seen him trim his yard. One hand on the trimmer and one on the walker. He kept his yard nice.
He told me once he had fallen off a ladder cleaning a friend's getters.
That's just the way he was.
He also loved Bo, his dog.
He will be missed in our neighborhood.
