Jerry Lynn Collier, age 77, of Carleton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at his residence.
Born on March 16, 1947 in Warren, Ohio, he was the son of Harold and Ethel (Jones) Collier.
He attended Airport Schools until his junior year and graduated from Zion-Benton High School in Zion, Illinois. After a year at Alma College, Jerry enlisted in the Air Force, proudly serving from 1966-1970. On April 25, 1969, he married Susan Metty Collier in St. Roch Catholic Church, Flat Rock.
Jerry worked at Guardian Industries, Glastech in Perrysburg, Ohio, finally retiring from Ford Motor Co. - Wayne Assembly Plant. After retirement, Jerry returned to college and earned his Bachelor's Degree From Siena Heights University.
Jerry and Susan raised their two sons, Craig and Jason in Dundee, where Jerry was active in Little League and Boy Scouts/ Cub Scouts. He spent many years pulling mini tractors.
In 2000, Jerry returned to the Carleton area. Until his health failed, he was active with the Ash Seniors. His favorite activity was calling Bingo for the group.
Jerry leaves behind his wife, Susan, of almost 55 years, his son, Jason (Calista), precious granddaughter, Amanda, and brother in law, Jack Lashuay.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Craig, and sister, Sally Lashuay.
A Time of Remembrance will be held at Bobcean Funeral Home - Carleton Chapel, on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 3 pm to 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
