Jerry Alan Cooper

Jerry Cooper, 72 of Bailey passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.  Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2024, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, with the family receiving friends immediately following the service.  Rev. Wayne Whitley will officiate.

 

Jerry loved to spend time with his family and friends.  He retired from the City of Wilson as a Building Inspector. Jerry was a member of Old House Hunting Club, which was started by his father in 1951, where he spent many years hunting.  Jerry was a loving father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him.  He was a joy to be around, a great storyteller and he will be deeply missed.

 

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Lynne Cooper; son, Alan Cooper and wife, Emily; stepdaughters, Kelly Whitley Uzzle and husband, Paul, and Beth Whitley Lamm and husband, Joey; twelve grandchildren; sister, Jennifer Ferrell and husband, Don, and his special friends, Joe Hagwood and Ronnie Dew.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Bray Cooper, and his parents, J.B. Cooper and Lucille Cooper.
