Jerry Wayne Cooper, 79, was born on January 18, 1946, in Clebit, Oklahoma, the son of Virgil Cooper and Lydia (Hall) Cooper. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jerry was a graduate of Battiest High School. He married the love of his life, Betty Jurean Parker, on August 27, 1965, in Battiest, Oklahoma. Jerry earned his BA in Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma and was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He served his Country with honor during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 986.

Jerry was a schoolteacher at Glover schools for twelve years until the Lord called him to the Ministry. He served as a pastor for the Assembly of God for many years and loved the Lord above all things. Jerry loved to hunt, fish and ride the hills of Southeastern Oklahoma. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and sharing his love for Christ. Jerry will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jurean Cooper of the home; sons, Jason Cooper of Oklahoma City, OK and Justin Cooper and wife Karen of Yukon, OK; grandchildren, Jayden, Alexus and Kaylee Cooper; great grandchildren, Lincolyn and Ellie Cooper along with numerous cousins and a host of family, friends and loved ones.
