Jerry Edward Cullison, age 90, passed away on February 8, 2026, at Orange City Area Health System, surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born on November 18, 1935, in Deep River, Iowa, to Cloyd and Marlys (Brown) Cullison. He was the second oldest of four children, with siblings Elizabeth “Betty,” Ronald, and Linda. In 1947, the family moved to Paullina, Iowa, where Jerry later graduated from Paullina High School in 1953.
Jerry began dating Barbara J. Pauling in 1954, and the two were married on Barb’s 21st birthday, May 30, 1959. Together they shared nearly 67 years of marriage and raised two sons, Jon and Jeffrey.
As a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, Jerry faithfully served as a deacon for many years. In 1960, he and his brother Ronald began farming together, a partnership that continued until his passing. In addition to farming, Jerry enjoyed trucking and driving 18-wheelers in his “free time.”
Over a span of more than 20 years, Jerry and Barb enjoyed many winters down south. He was an avid sports fan and loved being on the road, always finding a reason to take a drive.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Barb of Paullina; his son Jeffrey Cullison of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren Sarah Cullison of Rochester, MN, Mark Cullison of Oklahoma City, OK, and Anthony Cullison of Corning, NY; two great-grandchildren, Anna and Lex Cullison of Evergreen, CO; brother Ronald (Roverda) Cullison of Paullina; his sister Linda Sue (Johnny) Annala of Casa Grande, AZ; nieces, nephews and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cloyd and Marlys Cullison; his son Jon; and his sister Elizabeth “Betty” Einerwold.
