JONESBORO - Dorothy James Cullison, 86, of Jonesboro, departed this life on March 8, 2026, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was born on July 4, 1939, in Black Rock, to Virgil and Ollie Robertson.
Dorothy had been a resident of Jonesboro for the past 30 years and previously lived in Cash. She was a devoted homemaker and farmer who grew up on a rice farm, where she learned the value of hard work and dedication. Dorothy was a faithful member of Northside Church of Christ.
She had many interests throughout her life. Dorothy proudly held her pilot's license and was a member of a bowling league in the 1960s. She loved traveling, and her favorite destination was "Hawiah". Above all, she treasured her time with family. Many fond memories were made around the table playing Scrabble, where Dorothy was well known for beating her family, who always joked that she never ever cheated.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Charles Robertson, Mary Easley, and Sue Lamberth; a great-grandson, Myles Cullison; and her dearest friend, Mazie Henry.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Derrick (Andrea) Cullison and Darren Cullison, both of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Garrett (Kristen) Cullison and Jacob (Sarah) Cullison, both of Jonesboro, Hunter Cullison of Ruston, Louisiana, and Hayley (Ryan) Tripod of Van Buren; and great-grandchildren, Greyson, Harrison, Elijah, Isaac, and Isabelle.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 13, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with Ray Keller officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Garrett Cullison, Jacob Cullison, Hunter Cullison, Ryan Tripod, Michael Riggs, and Keith Boyd.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Local Mpact.
