Jerry Cunningham Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beyers Funeral Home & Crematory - Leesburg on Oct. 6, 2025.
Mr. Jerry Lee Cunningham, 87, of Groveland, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on December 9, 1937 to Lloyd Cunningham and Bernice Cunningham. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Vera (Story) Cunningham, Groveland, Florida; his brother Jim (Nancy) Cunningham of St. George, Utah and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Billye Stephenson. He moved to Titusville, Florida in the mid '60's to work at the Kennedy Space Center, retiring after 35 years of service. During those years he served faithfully at First Baptist Church of Indian River City, including being choir director and Sunday School Superintendent. After retirement he and his wife moved to Groveland, Florida in 2001. He was a member of Bay Lake Missionary Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years. He had a love for music and a talent to play the organ for his own enjoyment. He loved to sing in church and enjoyed meals to follow and most of all desserts. He also enjoyed passing time doing woodwork and puzzles. He had a fun-loving dry sense of humor and was loved by many. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 10th at 10:00 a.m. at Bay Lake Missionary Baptist Church in Groveland, FL with Pastor Darrell Sheeley and Pastor Ben Brittain officiating. Interment will be at Bay Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at Bay Lake Missionary Baptist Church in Groveland from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening to pay their respects. Arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home of Leesburg, Florida.
