Jerry Dean Everts, age 61, of Morley passed away from a short time of cancer. He was born on July 23,1960 to Gary and Mary (Taylor) Everts.
Jerry was born and raised in Lansing, Mi, graduated from Lansing Eastern class of 1978. During the years Jerry was active in sports and enjoyed hunting. Jerry had also coached girls basketball for many years. Jerry was a very good avid golfer. He also was very lucky at Bar Bingo!
Jerry was employed at Byrne Electric in Lakeview and Leppinks of Lakeview, he enjoyed working with everyone. Jerry had also worked at Flex-Cable for years and created a family there.
Jerry will always be remembered and survived by his 4 children Spencer of Grand Rapids, Mary of Hubbardston, Royce of Lake Odessa, and Alex of Mt. Clemens. Also he will be missed by his Dad, Gary of Six Lakes and Sister Rhonda of Howard City.
2 grandsons, Mason and Ray. 2-nieces Shawna (Seth) and Heidi (Pat). 2-Great nieces Bayla and Sydney. We can't forget his beloved cat Sherman.
Also had several cousins. Jerry was preceded in death by his loving Mom, Mary.
Jerry was loved by many and enjoyed being around friends and having a couple of beers. Jerry also could cook/grill up a pretty good meal, and enjoyed doing it.
We will be holding a celebration of life July 9th, 22 at the Morley American Legion 12:00pm-4:00pm.
