Jerry Bruce Fussell

Jerry Bruce Fussell, 77 of Boyd passed peacefully from this life Wednesday, October 29, 2025 surrounded by family.

Funeral will be 2 PM Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd with burial at Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Reverend Fred Raney will officiate. Pallbearers are Hayden Perdue, Jay Brian Fussell, Chase Perdue, Michael Lira, Chris Plaunty and Jonathon Gehringer.

Bruce, as he was known by family and friends, was born December 11, 1947 in Lufkin, Texas to J.B. and Virginia (Adams) Fussell. He graduated from Brewer High School then proudly served in the United States marine Corp.as a Lance Corporal from 1967-1973. Bruce worked for Lockheed Martin as a Maintenance Mechanic until his retirement. He enjoyed being with his family and was always up for a good time. Bruce was a loving son, father, grandfather and a true friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Virginia Fussell.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Sherry Perdue and husband Hayden; son, Jay Bryan Fussell and wife Malorie; grandchildren; Avery and Chase Perdue, his longtime furry companion “D. Dog”, numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
