David Cummings was known for his sense of humor, unending knowledge of movie quotes, and his guitar-shredding skills. He was also a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and cousin.
David passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 56 on July 5, 2025, at his home in Benbrook, Texas.
David was the third of four sons of Sherwood and Judith Cummings, born on November 14, 1968, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. He grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, and graduated from Brewer High School in 1987. David never met a stranger and always had everyone laughing, even in the most difficult times. He also ensured that those he loved and cared for were aware. His infectious laugh and unconditional love will be remembered and deeply missed.
He is survived by his daughter Emily and her husband Tyler, son Matt, brothers Greg and his wife Shelly, Gary, and Michael and his wife Adriana, nieces Brittany, Ashley and her husband Rager, and Averie, nephews Adam and Jordan, aunt Sandra and her husband Jack, uncle Stephen and his wife Debbie, cousins Teresa and her husband Kirk, Ryan, and Meghan and her husband Austin, and best friends Robert Moore and Lisa Eskew.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sherwood and Judith, his aunt Christine, and his sister-in-law, Sheila.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Brown Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, also at Brown Owens & Brumley Funeral Home, with the graveside service to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth.
