Jerry Lane Garner, 87 of Muncie, Indiana passed away on June 22, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones.
Jerry was born on October 24, 1935 to the late Tip Garner and Benny Beekman. A graduate of Eaton High School, Jerry then served in the Armed Forces in 1959 and retired from Farmer Bureau Co-Op in 1998.
Jerry was a member of Eaton First Church of God for over 60 years. As an avid golfer, even scoring a hole-in-one, Jerry spent time at the links and with friends at the Pantry. His bright smile and gentle spirit will be missed by many.
Jerry is survived by wife of 66 years Phyllis, sister Janney Simmons (Jr.), brother-in-law Mike Marshall (Linda), children David Garner (Lisa), Debbie Garner (Cliff Ramsey), Beth Gray (Tim) and grandchildren Whitnie Scott (David), Hunter Arrowood, Hannah Gray, Luke Gray, Zach Garner and Delaney Garner as well as great-grandchildren Lea Rees-Scott and Clara Scott.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 26, 2023 at Eaton Church of God, 700 E Harris St., Eaton, IN 47338 with Pastor Ken Mishler officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Visitation for family and friends will be at the church starting at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Eaton Church of God or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital c/o Pitman-Richman Funeral Home P.O. Box 537 Eaton, IN 47338.
