Jerry David Gates Sr

Jerry David Gates Sr was born October 10, 1961, In Pine Bluff Arkansas. He was the son of the late George Leon and Norma Louies Gates.

Jerry gained his wings and went over the Jordon River where he got a Glorified Body with family and friends. We watched him slip slide aways from us, after losing his battle with cancer on December 23,2025.

He was the youngest of seven brothers; five brothers Frankie Leon, Bobby Jean, Carroll Lynn, Ronnie Dewayne, and Robert Dale Gates that have gone on to the glory land. He is Survived by one brother Billy Ray (Janette) Miller. One son Jerry David Gates Jr, One daughter Tracy Marie Howard, Four Granddaughters Hailey, Rachel, Katelynn, and Serenity, two grandson Matthew and Bryson. Jerry lived with his niece Malinda (Adam) Hernandez and their three children, who will dearly miss him. He also leaves behind a host of family and friends.

Jerry service as a Deacon at Soldiers for Christ Church for many years. He also helped with leading Celebrate Recovery. He was a very playful, charismatic, fun-loving, and free-spirited person. He would always light up when his Grandchildren were present along with other family members, which he loved more than anything. One of Jery favorite saying was "I'll be your pappy until you find one."

Jerry's Service will be held at The Salvation Army at 5100 N Locust St in North Little Rock Arkansas 72116 at 1:00 pm with dinner following the service.
