Jerry Lee "Greenie" Greenwold

Jerry Lee Greenwold, of Barron died peacefully at home, April 27, 2025 at the age of 71. He was born in Rice Lake to Leonard and June (Gaare) Greenwold on October 28, 1953. Jerry lived all his life in Barron, graduating from Barron high school. After graduation, he attended 1 year of tech school for mechanics, then worked for Barron Ford for 37 years. He met Karen Meier in Minong in July, 1980. They were married April 7, 1984 in Wisconsin Rapids. They welcomed sons, Spencer and Evan in 1992 & 1994. Jerry enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping, attending music festivals with family and friends in his early days. He took pride in playing guitar, mandolin, and singing wonderful songs, as a delight to all, including young children who still to this day fondly remember. The last few years Jerry enjoyed taking his daily car rides, but never drove over 25 mph much to Karen's exasperation. He is survived by his wife, Karen, sons, Spencer (Anna) Greenwold and Evan (Brooke Williams) Greenwold; brother, Mike (Ellie) Greenwold; brother-in-law, Eugene Meier; sisters-in-law, Kathi (Tom) McEvers, Susan Meier and Linda (Varis) Kukainis, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and June Greenwold; sisters, Bobbie Mann and Bonnie Sanders; brother, Jack Greenwold; and brother-in-law, Robert Mann. A Celebration of Life for Jerry will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
