Wilson Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory - Carbon HillJerry Wayne Griffith, born on January 23, 1951, in Alabama, passed away peacefully at his residence on February 16, 2026. He was a Vietnam War Veteran and a faithful member of New Zion Baptist Church in Nauvoo, AL. Jerry met the Lord Jesus surrounded by his wife and daughters, embracing a moment filled with love and family.
Jerry's legacy will be cherished by his beloved wife, Virginia Thomas Griffith. He leaves behind his daughters, Ava Berry, Janet Berry Knight and her husband Bobby, and Rhonda Griffith Pate and her husband Shane. His grandchildren, Ann Marie Tune Aldridge, Lindsey Knight Pope, Jacob Tune, Danielle Knight Adcox, Sara Knight Hopson, Hayes Pate, and Logan Pate, will carry fond memories of him, as will a host of great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his brother, Carl Griffith and his wife Marilyn, along with nephews Steve and Gary Griffith. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie and Viola Griffith.
Visitation will take place on February 18, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, located at 31404 NE 1st Ave, Carbon Hill, AL 35549. The funeral service will follow, starting at 2:00 PM and concluding at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Jerry Wayne Griffith will be remembered for his service, his faith, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
