Gregory Don Williams, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully at his residence on February 13, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on March 14, 1956, Gregory dedicated much of his life to being a coal miner, working tirelessly to support his family and community.

Gregory was passionate about his interests, often found watching Alabama football, enjoying the thrills of NASCAR racing, and admiring muscle cars. He had a special fondness for the Western television series Gunsmoke, which reflected his appreciation for storytelling and characters that shaped the genre.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife, Sherri Carlton Williams. His legacy is continued by his children, Jaime and Jeremy Banks (daughter and son-in-law), Jason and Suki Akins (son and daughter-in-law), Tommy Jo Simpson and Rachelle Ponds (daughter). Gregory also cherished his grandchildren: Savanna Akins, Kaylea Ponds, and Kaden Ponds, and Corey Scruggs, who brought immense joy into his life.

Gregory is survived by his brothers, Ray Williams and Beverly, Von Williams and Joan, and Marshall Williams and Sheila, along with a host of nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Williams and Onzell Williams, who shaped the man he became.

Gregory Don Williams will be remembered not only for his dedication to his work but also for the love he showed to his family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
