CAMDEN — Jerry Allen Guckian, 68, of Camden, passed away peacefully at his home on Nov. 7, 2023.
He was born on May 30, 1955, in Richmond, Indiana to James and JoAnn Guckian. He was a 1973 graduate of Twin Valley South High School, a 1975 graduate of Clark Technical Institute, and was also trained at the Hobart Welding School. Upon completion of his coursework, Jerry began farming the family farm, which he continued to do for 44 years until his retirement in 2019. During this time, he also participated in tractor pulls and plowing contests. In addition to farming, Jerry spent his free time attending drag races and riding his motorcycles. He was also a collector of Oldsmobile Cutlasses and a member of the Hurst Olds Club. Jerry was generous enough to loan out his red convertible to be used in local homecoming parades and sold one Cutlass to a family member who had it restored and featured at local car shows. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by his mother, JoAnn Guckian, four siblings: Jim (Janet) Guckian of Riverdale, Georgia, Joella (John) Redick of Eaton, John Guckian of Eaton, and Jackie Guckian of Germantown, and many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his father, James Guckian. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 20, at Mound Hill Cemetery (new section) in Eaton. Gard Funeral Home, Eaton is assisting with arrangements.
