OBITUARY
Jerry Allan Gudermuth of St. Clair, MO departed this life in Creve Coeur, MO on Friday, January 23, 2026, having reached the age of sixty-eight years, four months and twenty-four days. Jerry was born in St. Louis, MO on August 31, 1957, son of Edwin Dale Gudermuth and Myrna Jean Gudermuth nee Taylor. On November 16, 1989 he was united in marriage to Sherry Lynn Hill and two children came to bless this union and he loved her children as his own.
Jerry is survived by three children, Trishta Hobson and husband, Zach, of St. Clair, MO, Andrew “Andy” Gudermuth and wife, Julia, of St. Clair, MO and Thomas Sparks and wife, Michelle, of St. Clair, MO; by one sister, Susie Ingram and husband, Steve, of St. Clair, MO; by his grandchildren, Nathan, Taylor, Aleea, Charlotte, Ryder, Olivia, Atlas, Hailey, Alyssa, Jeremiah and Isabella; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Myrna Gudermuth; by his wife, Sherry Gudermuth; by one son, Corey Sparks; by his brother, Roger Gudermuth; and by one sister, Sandy Belew.
Jerry was a Christian and had attended House of Hope in Sullivan, MO and Mercy Ministries in St. Clair, MO. He loved going to church and volunteering his service for the church and the community. During his working career he worked as a tree trimmer for Shade Tree Service in St. Clair, MO and Asplen in St. Louis, MO. He was a proud member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2 for over twenty years and Narcotics Anonymous for the past ten years. Jerry was also a past member of St. Clair Saddle Club. He loved going fishing and playing the dice game, 10,000. His children and grandchildren held a very special place in his heart and he cherished the time spent with them. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will be held dear in their hearts forever.
A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 30, 2026 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor Carl Duff officiating, assisted by Pastor David Godat. Interment will be in United Methodist Cemetery in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the family.
