Jerry Thomas High, Sr. age 78 of Whiteville, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born on December 18, 1945, son of the late Oscar Haynes High and Mary Margaret Caffee High. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Herman High, Lucille Hooks, Betty Taylor, Charles High, and Margaret Jernigan.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Worthington Funeral Home with Pastor John Beattie officiating. Burial will follow in the Caffee Family Cemetery, Whiteville.
The visitation will be from 2:00-2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Surviving family includes his wife, Rachel Jane Spivey High; three children, Jerry High, Jr. of Whiteville, Johnny Thomas High (Chris Ann) of Whiteville, Shelly Renee Dew (Jewell) of Whiteville; grandchildren, Summer Britt, Nathaniel High, Abigail High, Coty Strickland, Brandi Reynolds, Christopher Strickland; seven great-grandchildren, Peyton Reynolds, Dawson Jones, Briley Strickland, Aubreyella Reynolds, Myriah Strickland, Holden Britt, and Jaxton Strickland.
