Send FlowersJerry Ray Huron, 80, Converse, passed away at 9:02 pm on Sunday, July 13, 2025. He was born in Maysville, Kentucky, on Wednesday, July 11, 1945, to Albert and Frances (Curtis) Huron. He married Arlene L Lucero, and she survives.
Jerry served in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Sill Oklahoma. He was a parachute rigger packer and a parachute jumper. For 37 years, Jerry was employed at Fisher Body in the Department of Welders Maintenance. Jerry was a member of Boys Town, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and other organizations. Jerry was a veteran patient at the VA Hospital in Marion, Indiana. Jerry was a home body and loved watching football, boxing, wrestling, golf, and crime shows amongst other T.V. programs. He loved going to the casino and playing the old standard slots. Jerry enjoyed eating out at restaurants and getting ice cream. Jerry had a calm and peaceful, friendly personality. He was easy to get along with. He was always helping friends and family in their dire times of need. He was a country boy from Kentucky who loved his country music and he will be forever missed.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Arlene Lucero Huron. Jerry and Arlene celebrated their yearly birthdays together on July 11th; sons, Jeremy L. Huron and Joseph J. Huron, both of Marion; grandchildren, Christopher Huron of Kokomo, Kameron Gard of Marion, and Gavin Anthony Ancel of Converse.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Lee and Frances Huron; brothers, Jack Huron and James L.N. Huron.
The family will receive visitors from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
A graveside service with military honors to celebrate Jerry's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Marion National Cemetery.
