Jerry Alan Jones, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 25, 2024. Born with a generous spirit and a heart for his family, Jerry’s presence enriched the lives of everyone around him.
For 52 beautiful years, Jerry shared his life with his cherished wife, Mary Louise Jones. Together, they built a strong, loving family, blessed with four children: Michael Jones (Cathy), Michelle Hall, Daniel Jones, and Katie Ray. Jerry was a devoted father, “Papa,” and great-granddad, showering his family with love, laughter, and guidance. He leaves behind a legacy of 17 grandchildren, including Phillip (CJ), Maegan (Tyshawn), Dakota, Leeann (Adam), Mason, Zachary, Jasmyn, Cayden, JT, Malachi (Kelsey), Graycen, Cooper, and Lucas. His love extended even further to his great-grandchildren, Indie, River, and Kaycen.
A master carpenter, Jerry took great pride in his work, remodeling homes throughout Savannah and Hilton Head. His craftsmanship and dedication to his trade were apparent in every project he undertook. Jerry’s passions extended to the water, where he enjoyed fishing, shrimping, and even repairing and remodeling boats. His circle of friends was a testament to his steady, genuine character, including two dear friends, Ryan Edenfield and Woody Bagley, who shared countless memorable moments with him.
Jerry is survived by his loving mother, Marjorie Sue Jones; his brothers, Curt Jones and Larry Jones; and his sister, Linda Frawley (Pat). He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis J. Jones, and his brother, Murrell Jones.
Jerry’s legacy will forever be remembered in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be missed beyond measure.
Visitation will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Monday, October 28, 2024 from 5:30pm-6:30pm with a celebration of life to follow at 6:30pm in the chapel of the funeral home.
