Funeral service for Jerry Don Lacy, age 71, of Faxon, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Faxon.

Mr. Lacy passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025, at his home in Faxon.

Burial with Fort Sill U.S. Army military honors will be in the Faxon Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home, of Frederick.

He was born October 29, 1954, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to John C. Lacy and Patsy J. Edwards. He attended Chattanooga school. He was united in marriage to Virginia Gail Reed on August 10, 1973, at First Baptist Church, Faxon. Jerry joined the United States Army on July 20, 1972. He returned from overseas in Germany to Fort Benning, Georgia, where he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant, on December 11, 1980. Among the decorations and awards he received in the service include Good Conduct Medal, Sharpshooter Qualification Badge, and the National Defense Service Medal. After his military service, he returned to Faxon. He worked as a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist (Civil Service) at Fort Sill. He retired May 31, 2016. He loved his family and treasured his grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling, camping, hunting and fishing. He was an avid bowler and loved to bowl with his sister and brother-in-law.

Survivors include his wife Virginia, of the home; two daughters and their spouses: Brent and Amanda Grimes, of Fletcher, Oklahoma, Robert and April Huitt, of Faxon; two brothers: Donnie Edwards (Becky), of Donie, Texas, and Ronny Edwards (Stacy), of Wagoner, Oklahoma; a sister: Patricia Sellers (Richard), of Faxon; four grandchildren: Gage and Lacy Grimes, and Weston and Trace Huitt. And, many beloved nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Faxon, 215 SW 7th Street, Faxon, OK 73540, in loving memory of Jerry Lacy.
