Jerry Max Lawson

ROSEDALE-Jerry Max Lawson, 82, of Rosedale, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. Jerry was a retired truck driver for Yellow Freight.
He was born September 18, 1942, in Ehrmandale, Indiana, to the late William Lawson Sr. and Helen Burton Lawson. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lora Frazier Lawson, whom he married on March 7, 1990, in Terre Haute. Other survivors include one daughter, Lee Ann Brubeck of Rockville; two sons, Kevin Lawson and Brian Petit, both of Terre Haute; two brothers, Paul Lawson and Mike Lawson, both of Fontanet; a sister, Linda Ladd of Seelyville; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Patrick Petit; two brothers, William Lawson Jr. and Jack Lawson; and one sister, Janice Fields.
Jerry graduated from Fontanet High School in 1956 and served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Rosedale American Legion Tony Kashon Post 29 and enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, watching races, and cheering for his favorite sports teams, especially the Yankees. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and his easygoing approach to life.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 281 N Main Street, Rosedale, with Rev. Bill Herb officiating. Military honors will be performed by the Rosedale American Legion following the service. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
