Jerry "Butchie" William Lopez Jr, 70, of Duluth, MN passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at his home.

Jerry was born in El Paso, Texas to Carmen and Jerry Lopez on January 30, 1955. He graduated from Grossmount High School in 1973. He lived a life full of love, faith, and kindness.

Over the years, Jerry served many roles. For over 20 years, he worked in the automotive industry as a Sales Rep, and later promoted to the General Manager for PBE (Paint, Body & Equipment), prior to moving to Duluth in 2005. He spent the next chapter working as a Caregiver for the state of Minnesota and around the local area. He found great joy in helping people.

Outside of work, Jerry was the happiest at the hockey rink. He loved watching his son play hockey all over the country and never missed a game. Jerry enjoyed watching Longhorns football on Saturdays. He loved spending time with his granddaughter, Lyla and grand-dog, Maisy.

Jerry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Margret and Marion Lopez, and Delfina and Paul Viramontes; brother-in-law, Ray Foreman; sister-in-law, Jennifer Lopez; and his golden retriever, Buddy.

Jerry is survived by his son, Jeremy (Cali) Lopez; granddaughter, Lyla Lopez; parents, Carmen and Jerry Lopez; brothers, David and Ronald Lopez; sister, Cynthia Foreman; nephew, Ross Foreman; and former wife and friend, Dianne Lopez. He will also be remembered by many cousins, friends, and coworkers.
