Jerry Ray McCamy

Jerry McCamy passed away peacefully at home and went to be with his Lord on October 20, 2023, in Dalton, GA, at the age of 72.

Jerry loved his family, God, friends, and the great outdoors. He loved to fish, hunt, and camp. He constantly looked for chances to help those in need and if required, he would offer them the shirt off of his back. Literally. He was a self-taught handyman, and he could pick up any new task or hobby and perform them extraordinarily well. He proudly served his country and was a Vietnam veteran. He also worked for 35 years at Bowater Inc.

Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Moore of Dalton, GA, his father, Garvin McCamy of Dalton, GA, his infant son Matthew McCamy, of Cleveland, TN, and his infant granddaughter Noelle Jones, of Fort Irwin, CA.

Survived by his stepmother, Dot McCamy of Cohutta, GA, his wife, Beth Forester McCamy of Dalton, GA, his son, Jeremy McCamy and fiancée Cosette Capel of Parker, CO, his daughter, Julia McCamy Jones and husband Shawn Jones of Fort Irwin, CA, his step-sister Cindy Green of Cohutta, GA, and grandsons Tristan and Asher McCamy of Parker, CO.

A graveside service with full military honors will be at 10:30 am on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
