Mr. Jerry Todd McDaniel, 82, of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026 in his home.

Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 11, 2026 in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Jones Cemetery in Wildersville, Tennessee. Herschel Wilkes and Tommy Baker officiating.

The family will receive friends at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from 11:00 AM until time of services at 2:00 PM.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret McDaniel; his daughter, Rachel (Billy) Carneal; stepson, David Nannie; sister, Joan Scott; five grandchildren, Alaina (Brandon) Lewis, Bryleigh Carneal, Paker, Caroline and Charlie Nannie; one great-granddaughter, Jordyn Rae.

He was a proud Vietnam War Veteran known as "Jerry Mc" to his friends. Jerry was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1967, where he completed training at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and Fort Polk, Louisiana before serving in Vietnam. He was first infantry for the Army. During his service, he earned numerous honors, including the Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, Sharpshooter (Rifle), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and First Class Gunner Recognition. He was discharged from the Army on December 18, 1968, and later continued his dedication to service through the National Guard until his retirement on January 3, 1997.

Jerry lived in Huntingdon, Tennessee with his wife, Margaret, and was deeply respected for his courage, commitment, and love of country. His legacy of service and sacrifice will be remembered and honored always.

In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, and spending time in his duck blind. He also loved helping others in any way he could and was always willing to lend a hand.

Honoring him as pallbearers will be James Lindsey, Bo Johnson, Bob Johnson, Brandon Lewis, Bud Tucker, Bobby Olive, Ryan Edwards, and Ricky Crider.

Honoring him as honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Melton, Paul Simmons, Charles Crider, Terry Meadows, Kenny Bolen, and Tommy Baker.
