Jerry D. Messer, age 60, of Hardy, Arkansas, departed January 17, 2025 after a long eight-year battle.
Born in Camdenton, Missouri, May 2, 1964, he was devoted to his wife of 39 years, Rhonda M. (Kozey) Messer, his 3 daughters: Morgan (Asher) Snook, Taber (Spencer) Redford, and Brooke Messer, and the loves of his life, 5 grandchildren: Kynleigh, Peyton, Kayson, Asher, and Kallen as well as many relatives and friends.
Jerry made friends everywhere he went. From here to Florida and even Nassau, Bahamas. He loved talking with people and getting to know them. Jerry never knew a stranger. He looked forward to his morning coffee with his best friend Scott Quintana out in the lot at The Market and playing golf with his buddies. After owning and operating the Rebel Station, he proactively transformed the building into a restaurant, The Spring River Drafthouse and Grill. After getting that up and running, he took on another venture. He rebuilt the old Downhome building and opened Kozey’s Country Market, both businesses in Hardy. Jerry had such a creative and entrepreneurial mind and was always planning his next adventure, the latest being raising chickens and beekeeping.
Every move Jerry made, he made for Rhonda, the love of his life, his 3 daughters, and 5 grandchildren.
A 3:00 p.m. public service will be at Tri-County Funeral Home Chapel in Highland, Arkansas on Saturday, January 25, 2025. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of the public service.
In lieu of cut flowers, please consider a perennial flower that can be planted near his bees to help pollinate his hives so “Jerry’s Honey” will live on. Also, Jerry was an avid small business supporter, so please consider local florists.
