February 3, 1955 – August 29, 2025
Jerry Lynn Moore Sr. was born on February 3, 1955, in Port Lavaca, Texas, to Wilson and Eula Moore. He passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025.
Jerry grew up in Weedpatch, California, and was a proud graduate of Arvin High School, Class of 1974, where he carried his love for the Arvin Bears throughout his life. While at Arvin High, he met his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Robyn Smith. The two were inseparable, and after graduation they married, sharing 39 wonderful years together before her passing.
Jerry honorably served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. After his service, he devoted his career to the oil industry, where he built lifelong friendships and earned respect for his hard work and dedication.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Horn, and her husband, Jason; his son, Jerry L. Moore II, his namesake; grandchildren Matt (Courtney), Rhianna, Serena (Angelo) Jennifer, Jason Jr., and Hannah; and his great-granddaughter, Adeline Rae. He also leaves behind his sisters, Bea Mills (Fred) and Karen Dale, along with his roommate and brother, Jimmy Moore, with whom he shared their bachelor pad with. He also leaves behind his favorite sister in law Arlene (George) and his best friend throughout his whole life David Nash as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Robyn, and his parents, Wilson and Eula.
Jerry will be remembered for his loyalty, humor, love for family, and the pride he took in his military service. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Services will be at the Bakersfield National Cemetery on September 19, 2025 at 2:00pm. Reception details to follow.
