Jerry Morris Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 5, 2025.
Jerry D. Morris, Jr., a cherished father, loving son, and devoted member of the community, left this world on November 4, 2025, in Adamsville, Tennessee, at the age of 59. Born on October 21, 1966, in Jackson, Tennessee, Jerry's life was a testament to the simple joys and deep connections that define our existence.
Growing up, Jerry developed a passion for the great outdoors. He found joy in the rustic tranquility of hunting and fishing, experiences that shaped his formative years and fostered a deep appreciation for nature. Those who knew him fondly recall his stories of adventure and the peace he found amidst the trees and rivers. Yet, above all, Jerry was known for his unwavering love for his daughters, Allison, Samantha and Sabrina. He took immense pride in doting on them, ensuring their laughter and happiness illuminated his days.
For many years, Jerry worked in maintenance at the Western Mental Health Institute, where he dedicated himself to serving the community until he faced the challenges of disability. His resilience and determination were clear to all who met him; he embraced life's hurdles with courage, never allowing them to dim his unwavering spirit.
A cherished member of Hatchie Baptist Church, Jerry nurtured deep connections with his faith and community. He understood the importance of fellowship and was an integral part of the lives around him, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a heartfelt conversation.
Jerry is lovingly remembered by his mother, Shirley Prestage, and his stepfather, Barry, both of Munford, Tennessee. His daughters, Allison White of Corinth, Mississippi, Samantha and Sabrina Morris of Hornsby, carry forward his legacy of love and resilience. He is also survived by his dear aunt, Patricia Murphy of Bolivar, Tennessee, and his uncle, Jimmy Morris.
Jerry's legacy is forever marked by the bond he shared with his brother, Todd Morris, who has preceded him in death. Though they are separated by this earthly realm, the memories they created together continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew them.
A graveside service to honor Jerry's life will be held on November 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at Wyatt Cemetery in Hornsby, Tennessee. This gathering will provide an opportunity for family and friends to reflect on his life, share stories, and celebrate the love he so generously gave.
As we bid farewell to Jerry D. Morris, Jr., we remember him as a spirit of kindness, a lover of life, and a father who embodied devotion. His memory will forever remain a treasured part of the lives he touched. Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to Hatchie Baptist Church.
