William Lawrence Hood, age 76, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025. He was born in Cheyenne, WY on October 18, 1949. He was the beloved son of the late Howard T. and June Fernell Weigle Hood.
Bill had a deep faith in and love for his Heavenly Father, his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was the beloved husband of his wife, Deborah; a wonderful father to her children, a loyal friend, and faithful member of Faith Baptist church in Selmer, TN. He could be counted on whenever the church had work or repairs to be done.
Bill often wowed his friends with tales of his childhood adventures and mishaps from his life on a farm in eastern Wyoming. Bill was hard-working and always had things that he was either fixing, restoring, or building. He loved his life on the farm with his wife, Deborah, his little dachshund, and farm animals.
He served his country in the United States Army for almost 2 years and then later joined the United States Marine Corps serving for 6 years. He served honorably during the Vietnam War earning several decorations, commendations, and medals including the Bronze Star medal.
From 1983 - May 2008 he worked for the federal government. He retired after a total of 35 years in civil service.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Kay Hood; brother, Charles F. Hood and wife Nicole and their children: Nathan and Theresa; sister, Carolyn Hood Stanley and husband, Kirk; stepson, Jesse William Laycock and wife Karla and their children: Corinna, Joseph, and Kaylin; stepdaughter, Christine Dougherty and her children: June and Cora; son, Jason Hood and wife Amy; daughter, Rachel Ziller and husband George and their children: Isabel, Evelyn, Simeon, Nicolette, and Millicent; brother-in-law, Donald Edwin Sharp and wife Valerie and their children; sister-in-law, Suzanne Sharp and her children.
