Bettye Jean Jones

Bettye Jean Jones was born December 19, 1932 in, TN, the daughter of the late Jim and Patie Glidewell. She married into a farm family when she was united in marriage to Charles Jones on December 29, 1951. Mr. Jones preceded her in death on May 5, 2006.
Bettye was a lifelong devoted member of the Stantonville Methodist Church in Stantonville, Tennessee, Bettye's faith was an integral part of her life. She had worked for Brown Shoe Company, helped on the farm and later in life worked at the Selmer Community Center.
Bettye had a passion for collecting figurines and enjoyed searching for treasures at local thrift stores, but what she cherished most was time spent with her family.
Bettye departed this life on November 4, 2025 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 10 Months, 16 Days. She was known for her warm smile and generous spirit.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda K. Gilchrist; son, Stanley G. Jones and wife Debra; a brother, James Glidewell; sister-in-law Treva Glidewell; 6 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great Grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Bettye was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Glidewell; son-in-law, Robert Gilchrist and sister-in-law, Betty Glidewell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a local food bank or to the donor's choice.
