STEVE PLUNK, SR.
Henderson, TN: Larence Steven Plunk, Sr. age 71, passed away Saturday November 8, 2025, at his home in Henderson.
He was born in Henderson, TN May 22, 1954, son of the late James Lymon and Mazie Emily Kelley Plunk. He was a 1972 graduate of Chester County High School.
Steve married Janice Kitchen on April 12, 1974, and they made their home in Henderson for the duration of 51 years.
He was a Journeyman Tool and Die for Grinnell, Anvil, and ASC for 43 years, retiring in 2021. Steve had also pursued an Engineering degree.
He enjoyed wood carving, hunting, and fishing.
Steve loved his family dearly and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He was a gentle and kind man, and was a member of Christ Community Church The Pentecostals, serving as an usher. He also being playing Santa Claus at Christmas.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Plunk of Henderson; son, Larence Steven Plunk, Jr. (Jennifer) of Henderson; two daughters, Emily Heimbach of Lexington, TN and Crystal Oakes (Christopher) of Greeneville, TN; six grandchildren, Caedmon Oakes, Jericho Heimbach, Catherine Mazie Oakes, Gracie and Carly Plunk, and Shane Barham (Ashley); and one great grandchild, Layton Barham.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Lynn Plunk.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Christ Community Church with burial to follow at Roby Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday.
