Jerry Timothy Ritter passed away at his residence in Plainville. Jerry was born on April 17, 1949, in Washington, IN the son of William Fredrick and Shirleen (Tormohlen) Ritter. He married Barbara Ann Smith on June 5, 1972, and she preceded him in death.
Jerry served his Country in the United States Army as an MP during the Vietnam Conflict. Jerry was a welder for Basiloid Products Corp. and enjoyed grain farming and raising livestock, mostly cattle. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and reading old western and suspense books.
Survivors include his sons, Jay Ritter (Sue Brockway), Mark Ritter (Stephanie); his siblings, Linda Mylet (Thomas), Jeanie Myers (Mike), Richard Ritter (Laura); three grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, William and Shirleen Ritter and his wife Barbara Ritter.
Friends may visit with Jerry's family from 11:00 am until the hour of service time of 1:00 pm on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. Pastor Ashley Shurtz will officiate, and Jerry will be laid rest next to his wife Barbara in Plainville Cemetery. The Ritter family has requested contributions be made to Daviess County Animal Shelter. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is privileged and honored to be entrusted with the care of Jerry and his family.
