Jerry Roy Sellers, 76 of Jackson, passed away January 8, 2025. Jerry was born May 27, 1948 to Honree and Flora May Sellers and was member of Ulcanush Baptist Church. Jerry enjoyed the outdoors and liked hunting. He worked on the river for 46 years, the majority of that time as Towboat Captain, before retiring from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Jerry loved football, especially the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. He loved to visit and never met a stranger. Jerry was a devoted husband and father who loved his wife and son immensely.
Jerry is predeceased by his parents; beloved wife of 44 years, Roxie Sellers; and siblings, Ann Walker and Earnest Sellers.
He is survived by his son, Jeremy Sellers; brother, Vander "Junior" Sellers (Cathy); sister-in-law, Ramona Powell (Thomas); brother-in-law, Frank Walker; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Clearwater Assembly of God, Wagarville. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral begins at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Jimmy Butts officiating. Interment will follow in Hodge Family Cemetery, Coffeeville.
Active pallbearers will be Clint Powell, Thomas Powell, Cody Sellers, Shane Sellers, Jeff McDonald, and Dean Hodge.
