Jerry "Bud" Schilling , a man of quiet strength and hard work passed away at the age of 95. Born into a large family of eight plus 1 siblings; Janet, Arlon, Vernon, Elmo, Butch, Wallace, Joannne (Joni), Jeraldine (Honey) and Diane.
For the last 59 years, Bud was the devoted husband of Betty Schilling. Together, they built more than just a family; they built a legacy of stability and love. A skilled craftsman by trade, Bud founded and operated Schilling Drywall until his retirement, earning a reputation for the same integrity he brought to his personal life. He was a quiet man and a friend to all, respected by everyone who crossed his path.
Bud's early life was defined by the challenges of growing up less fortunate. Those humble beginnings forged the resilience and grit that would define his character. He took those lessons and built a full life, centered on the things that mattered most: family and home. He always said "as long as I can pay my bills and have a steak when I wanted, I am a rich man".
His greatest physical achievement was the family home he built in Menomonee Falls. It was more than just a house; it was the anchor of his life, and he remained there until the very end, surrounded by the memories of the family he raised. Bud was a proud father to his sons, Joe (Kathleen) and Todd (Lisa), and now joins his beloved daughter, Tracy, who preceded him in death. He was the grandfather to Eric, Noah, and Nikki, who carry forward the lessons of hard work and kindness he modeled every day. He leaves behind family and friends that will remember him as an honest man who made time for others. His steady hands, long marriage, and the home he built stand as a testament to a long life well lived.
