Jerry Edwin Schultz, 84 of St. Charles, died Thursday, September 26, 2024 at St. Charles Assisted Living.
Jerry was born May 28, 1940 in Rochester to Edwin and Grace (Smith) Schultz. Jerry worked for Mathy’s Construction, Road Constructors Inc., Shamrock Enterprises and hauled grain. On December 24, 1968, he married Nancy Jean Horsman in Sioux Falls, SD. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, gardening, raising hunting dogs, skeet shooting and being a hobby farmer. He was also known to enjoy a cold beer and a little gambling, loved the Minnesota Vikings, grilling, stock car racing and KFC.
He is survived by his wife: Nancy; three children Kevin (Kim) Schultz, Trevor Schultz and Kym (Mark) Shealy; 8 grandchildren: Chris (Katie) Schultz, Cory (Heather) Schultz, Hope (Austin) Fohrman, Josie Schultz, Jessica (Isaac) Alexander, Aly Shealy, Emy Shealy (Thomas Boales) and Hanalise Shealy; 10 great-grandchildren: Lydia & Cameron Schultz, Chandler, Anastasia, Bennett & Joey Fohrman, Addie Welp, Jamison Alexander, Nevaeh and Dash Boales; 3 sisters: Soni (Paul) Daywitt, Pam Keith, Pat (Owen) Rainey; 1 brother, Loni (Kelli) Schultz; 1 brother-in-law, Dale (Chris) Horsman as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ed & Grace (Smith) and step-mother Alyce (Loppnow); father-in-law: Darryl Horsman; mothers-in-law: Edith (Holets) and Louella (Kohlmeyer - Jacobson); brother-in-law: Tom Hanson; sisters-in-law: Patricia Hanson and Dixie Duellman; and 2 great grandchildren: Pheonix Boales & Leo Jacobs.
A gathering of family and friends will be 12-2 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service - St. Charles. Following will be burial at Bethany Moravian Cemetery.
