Jerry Patrick Sharp, 87, entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 22, 2025, at his home in Marquette, Iowa. He and his twin brother, Terry, were born on April 16, 1938, to Gerald and Florence (Rehm) Sharp.

Jerry graduated from Mar-Mac High School in 1956. He married his beloved wife, Mary Ellen Schaumberg at St. Mary's Catholic Church in McGregor on January 25, 1958, and together they raised five children. Jerry worked as a signalman on The Milwaukee Road out of high school until 1967. He then worked as a 3M production line supervisor until he retired in 1993. An avid fisherman, Jerry found joy in his retirement days trout fishing the streams in Sny Magill and Bloody Run.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Ellen, who he faithfully visited daily at the Great River Care Center; five children: Lori (Jay) Dull of Cockeysville, Maryland, Gina (Dana) Denning of Aurora, Colorado, Shelly (Joe) Heitzman of Urbandale, Iowa, Deanne (Steve) Hoerner of University City, Missouri, and Gary (Irene) Sharp of Urbandale, Iowa; ten grandchildren: Bryant and Calvin Dull, Nicholas (Lindsay) Denning, Brittany (Brian) Boselli, Kristan Denning, Anna and Emily Heitzman, Ellen (Stephen) Baxendale, Thomas (Mary) Hoerner, and Katherine Hoerner; ten great grandchildren; and twin brother Terry Sharp, and sister Suzanne (Jim) Pennington.

Jerry was known for his generosity and quick wit. He always had a twinkle in his eye and a term of endearment for those around him. His unwavering love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

A private service will take place at a later date.
