Jerry Cheyenne Sounding Sides was born on January 6, 1989 in Rapid City, SD to Santos Sidney Sounding Sides-Chalmers and Lavina Red Paint. Jerry made his journey to the Spirit World on March 15, 2023 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Lavina Red Paint; father, Santos Sounding Sides-Chalmers; daughter, Wiyaka Sounding Sides; sons, Mahpiya Akan Najin Sounding Sides, and Grayson Puppel; siblings, Lucy Camargo, Jacob Sounding Sides, Phillip Black Bear, Kayden Chalmers, and Tasina Chalmers.
Jerry was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Geraldine Dreamer-Chalmers, Lorenda (Running Bear) Red Paint; grandfathers, Phillip Sounding Sides and Ross Red Paint; uncles, Phillip Sounding Sides, Jr., Andrew Red Paint, Matthew Red Paint, and Terry Red Paint; aunts, Patricia Sounding Sides-Brings Plenty, Joyce Dreamer-Marcy, Lucille Red Paint, Calvin Red Paint, and Callavine Red Paint; brother, Jason Chalmers; son, Dakota Wade Sounding Sides;
Pallbearers will be Mike Brings Plenty, Hunter Chalmers, Wayne Chief Eagle, Wes Peneaux, Wes Bruguier, and Jeremiah Two Bulls.
