Xavier Vincent Big Crow, age 46, was born on November 6, 1980, and passed away on February 11, 2006.
Xavier was a man full of life, laughter, and a spirit that could brighten any room. He was known for his big smile, his love of joking around, and the way he could make anyone feel at ease. Xavier always had a prank to pull, a story to tell, or a laugh to share, and his joyful presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Xavier grew up north of Allen on his grandparents' ranch, where he learned the values of hard work and a deep love for the land. From a young age, he learned to ride, rope, and punch cows, carrying those ranch roots with him throughout his life.
He developed a passion for rodeo and bull riding, and he had the opportunity to ride PRCA bulls through the Bennett County Rodeo High School club. Xavier was fearless, determined, and always ready for the next challenge.
Xavier attended Bennett County High School until his junior year, when he transferred to Little Wound School. There, he made many friendships that meant a great deal to him.
One of Xavier's greatest passions was firefighting. He loved the work, the camaraderie, and the satisfaction that came from protecting the land and standing shoulder to shoulder with his brothers. Firefighting was more than a job to him - it was something he truly took pride in.
Xavier also worked as a ranch hand for Terry Livermont's Ranch, a role he enjoyed and one that reflected his strong work ethic and love for the ranching lifestyle. In his free time, Xavier could often be found listening to metal or hard rock music, laughing with friends, and living life to the fullest. He will be remembered for his humor, his courage, and the love he had for the people around him.
Xavier is survived by his mother, Susan (Thunder Bull) Big Crow; son, Kenoi Braveheart-Big Crow and Kainan Big Crow; daughter, Siri Big Crow; brothers, Francis Jamie Big Crow, Tanoa Big Crow, Anthony Watson, Catlin Watson, Cruz Watson, and Justin Big Crow; sisters, Kelli Mousseau-Eagle Elk, Nicole Big Crow, Cessilee Big Crow, Latoya Watson, Sharice Buck, and Rochelle Big Crow; god-daughter, Tasia Two Bulls; aunts, Tracy (Luis) Big Crow-Matai, Phyllis Campbell, Dorothy Thunder Bull, Mary Whirlwind Horse, Debbie (Eagle Heart) Johnson, Lavonne King, Josie King, Ruth Billy, Rosalie Brown Thunder, and Serena King; uncles, William May, James Christensen, Carl Eagle Elk, Darwin Eagle Elk, William Gourd, Steve and Victor Coomes; and numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins whose lives were touched by his kindness, laughter, and unforgettable spirit.
