A dedicated member of Local Union 513, Jerry worked as a heavy machine operator in the construction industry for over forty years. He was not only known for his strong work ethic but also for his vibrant personality and musical talents. An accomplished musician, Jerry loved to sing and play guitar, sharing his passion with audiences across Missouri and beyond. He also enjoyed entertaining family and friends from the deck of his pontoon boat on the lake, creating cherished memories with loved ones.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Stevenson; daughter, Lynn Stevenson; brothers Guy, Eugene, Vernon, Lowell, and Richard Stevenson; and sisters Patricia Potter, Carolyn Fulton, and Melba Clifford.
He is survived by his sons: Rick Stevenson and Jerry Lee Stevenson both of Festus; grandchildren: Laurn, Chayne, Shawn, Brady, Bryan, Tyler, and Katie; brother: Gary Stevenson and wife Rita of Kentucky; sisters: Shirley Caldwell of Wappapello, Charlotte McClain and husband Dennis of O'Fallon, MO; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jerry will be greatly missed for his kindness, humor, and the joy he brought to those around him.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm, Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 10, 2024, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, Des Arc, MO. Though I have not seen him in several years I have very good memories of him always making people laugh. He loved his music so much. We will miss you Jerry.
