Jerry Summerlin Obituary

Jerry Clinton Summerlin was born June 20th, 1953, in Montgomery, AL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Mildred Summerlin, brother Joseph Summerlin and an infant granddaughter, Jennifer Jane Hobson. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Tresa "Terry" Summerlin; a daughter, Jennifer Summerlin Hobson (Joel), two grandsons, Joel Jones Hobson IV and Graydon James Hobson; a sister, Glenda Summerlin Hansel (Joe), brother Don Summerlin (Betty), and many nieces and nephews. He absolutely adored his only child, Jennifer, and his 2 grandsons, Joel and Graydon, who were his pride and joy.

He attended the University of Alabama and was an avid Crimson Tide super fan. He was also the ultimate grill master. He had the Lord's word written all over his heart. He knew the Bible from cover to cover. At the end of his life, he told his family he was not afraid, as he was going home to be with his Lord and Savior. In his last years, Jerry was legally blind due to Retinitas Pigmentosis; however, we are comforted by the fact that he can now see everything in Heaven.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday September 3, at St. John's Episcopal Church with a reception to follow in the parish hall. Private Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to St. John's Episcopal Church.
